In 2007, the US Government established the Grant Management Solutions (GMS) project to provide urgent, short-term technical support to countries receiving grants from the Global Fund and experiencing difficulty in managing their grants.
Several IDEAS staff members are frequent GMS consultants. They work with Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs) and Principal Recipients (PRs) to assist Global Fund grantees by strengthening governance and leadership, financial and grants management, and monitoring and evaluation.
The valuable contributions of IDEAS to this initiative are demonstrated by repeated requests for our staff members to serve on GMS teams in eleven countries.
